Non-Grafted Banana Passionfruit

Passiflora mollissima

The Nellie Kelly Banana Passionfruit is a super hardy, non-grafted, vigorous vine that thrives in cooler, temperate regions.

A well maintained Nellie Kelly Banana Passionfruit vine will cover around 8 square metres and produce up to 150 pieces of fruit a season over a 6 to 8 year lifespan. The vine’s beautiful bright pink flowers appear from late spring to summer while its soft-skinned, elongated, yellow fruit ripen from autumn to winter. Their taste is a unique mixture, sweeter than the traditional black passionfruit with a hint of banana.

Plant in a sunny, well-drained position with adequate wind protection and apply a complete organic fertiliser before watering in.
